The Towne Cinema is an independent theater in Watertown. I found out about it from a friend when I lamented the lack of dollar theaters in the area. This one only charges 3 per person.
Sadly, they were going to have to close unless they could raise 70,000 dollars to buy digital projectors. I decided to donate and help them out. They had a project on Kickstarter. 42 hours before the deadline they had 63,000 - so I added more to my donation. Then I check the website almost every hour, on pins and needles, to see how it was going. Sure enough, they got the money!
I have to admit it was so exciting to be a small part of this process. I am glad I did something
good and worthwhile.
