A couple friend of ours invited us to their parent's house for the 4th. Brandon's parents live in Jupiter (65 minutes north) and they were in Utah for the 4th. So we went and had a blast. We made shish-k-bobs with yummy meat, played games, went swimming in their pool, watched fireworks on the beach, went swimming on the beach the next morning, and just ate lots of good food. Did I mention we went to the inter-coastal and got muddy? And saw crabs, conchs, and hermit crabs? Very few fireworks are illegal here so while at the beach tons of huge fireworks (almost as big as ones used by cities) were lighted off all along the beach. We were between two groups who were lighting tons off. They were very, very loud and tons of fun. Some tanked and went into the water. Emma also did the scariest thing. She wanted to get a floating shark in the pool and she walked into it and it was too deep. Normally she could stand. She stood there trying to tread water and her head kept bobbing under. Brandon was closest and he dove in, fully clothed. He saved her and ruined his cell phone. Talk about scary! She was trying to swim and not doing too bad but still scary. I think I will get serious about lessons and Jed and I both think having a pool would be very dangerous for little kids. At any rate, we will replace his phone and after that she would not go in without her vest. She kept saying she would swallow too much water if not. So she did learn. Still it was one very fun weekend!
