We went to one day of the Star Wars Celebration Convention! It was in Orlando.

So cool right from the start. Outside they painted the cement posts to look like R2D2.

Of course inside they had huge props and such. People dressed up like Star Wars characters everywhere.

Storm troopers guarded the entrance and kept crowds in check. This one put a mustache on his helmet.

Over 30,000 people were lined up. Nice to know you really aren't alone in your devotion to Star Wars isn't it?

Inside one cool thing was that R2 units were everywhere and in all colors too.

Again another cool exhibit of stage props and they even played star wars music in the bathrooms.

Lego of course had several booths. Outside the main one they had Master builders making star wars characters. They were making Bubba Fett's helmet while we were there using a computer model. Chewbacca was cool too.

Jake as a storm trooper. A little too short huh? Just like Luke.

You could build a diarama too. They had a huge one they let people help with. I got in line but they ran out of materials for me. Bummer - anyway I watched cool shows on how to make one. That will come in handy for Emma's projects.

This is hte commitment chapel. Here couples were "committed" (like married) by a Jedi for the length of the convention. How silly!

This was awesome! Its is a lego mural. all done with single lego pieces. Lego gave each person a 10x10 piece with color codes on it. You put the right colored legos on it then they put it on the right spot on the mural. We went on Saturday as they were finishing it. It was started on the Thursday it began. It will be donated to a hospitial. Isn't that a cool idea?

Us putting together our pieces. I had a stroke of genius and asked for a plain white one for Ash. That way he could just put on white legos and not worry about the color codes. So we all helped and got a cute Bubba Fett Lego man for doing so.

The Family room had star wars fun for kids. One area was a training area for kids to saber fight.

This was the R2 lounge. All these fans have made their own R2 unites. Some are red, green, pink and such. Some don't move, others do all the tricks just like on the show. One man said he spent over 15,000 dollars on his unit and three years of saturdays! Pretty cool.

Of course bounty hunters and all kinds of characters were everywhere. Emma went up to them and was not afraid at all. In fact she went up and held Darth Vader's hand. He said he tried so hard to be intimidating and it wasn't working.

We are so going to the next one without kids, well, at least for one day anyway. We did not go to any speeches or forums because of our kids. Just looked at exhibits and booths.
