More Summer fun

Boy we have been having fun this summer. Besides a long trip to Utah and Colorado, we have been busy with all kinds of activities.

Bikes: I bought both Emma and Ash used bikes. Emma had a hard time learning to ride without training wheels but then one day she just decidec to do it. Now she is a good rider and Jed takes her and Ash on short rides down the road. Now to just get my bike working.

Emma: softball. She really enjoyed it and had a fun time.

Music in the Park: Wednesday night they have a band play in the park. A farmer's market is right nearby and the kids play in the big sandbox while I buy tomatoes and listen to the band. Super fun for all of us.

Emma: Read a book to the dog Mollie. Kinda fun, and then she got a short lesson in greeting dogs and how to avoid getting bitten by most dogs.

Animal/pet show at library. This was the best! A local but super-huge pet store (5th largest in US) came and brought all kinds of animals. They got to pet lizards, bunnies, chinchillas, etc...

Highlights include a hermit crab race (had stickers on the shell)

Petting turtles

And interacting with a land tortoise.

I was posed better but Emma took too long to take the pictures. By this time the snake had started to wrap around my back and I was thoroughly creeped out!

Lots of lunches with Mac-n-Cheese. Notice Jake is feeding his dinosaur.

Now he is trying to make Emma take a bite, all while growling and laughing.

More music in park: This time they had discount dog grooming and they let kids help! So Emma helped trim a dogs hair and comb it. Jakey kept trying to get the dogs to run. I spent my time corralling Jake.

Playing in the car - Jake can turn the key and almost move it from park position. Super fun and scary. He makes these awesome vroom noises too.

Touring the Jelly Belly warehouse. Not a factory but still fun. The best is that you can taste every kind of jelly bean the make - including ones flavored like grass, pencil shavings, boogers, and vomit!
