Spring Fever = garden kick

I swear I really do have spring fever. I just want to be outside all the time. I sit on the porch, enjoy yard work, and can't wait to try to grow plants. Jed and I keep wondering what to do about a garden. Our whole yard is grass, which means tearing it up, and then having to replant it. So I found a third solution - join the community garden club! What fun. I get to hang out with other moms and gardeners, none are professional, and help grow food for the local food bank. I still want a big pumpkin patch. So maybe we will do that out in the horse pasture.

And I decided we needed flowers. So I dug up and created a rock-lined flower bed near the tree and planted flowers in the front area. Still need to weed that one though. Can't wait till they grow a bit. Gotta fertilize this week. And I am trying out growing potatoes in pots. I'll have to let you know if it works.

That orange one is Ashton's bean from school. It was growing so well and looked so cute that I just decided it could have a pot too and Ash could water it. Its a pinto bean.

The community garden plot. I planted tons of fun things to eat. Can't wait to see them start growing.

I'm so jealous! I try so hard to get my garden done but I just don't... I just need to buckle down and do it!
