To learn about Personal Progress, the two new beehives went on a journey following the Yellow brick road. They met characters along the way and ended up in Oz where they met the wizard. It was such a success!
All the people waited in the chapel where we had moved the chairs to make a big swirl. I also had a big box decorated like a house and a pair of stocking feet sticking out. (forgot my camera)
This is me, Glinda the good witch. Forgot my slip and static cling - curses!
I introduced them to the theme, torch logo and their guide - Toto. Played by Natacia. She guided them along the road.
We put red slipper covers on their feet and make them walk the road to the song from the movie.
Then they met Neinah - the lollypop kid who taught them about value experiences, projects, and the value faith.
Anna Orr, the scarecrow, started like this. Then when they woke her up she taught them a out Knowledge and Choice and Accountability
Her corn fence turned out pretty nice!
Our two beehives just loved it all!
Next Anna Aamodt the tinman who taught them about Divine Nature and Good Works.
Then our Lion, who jumped out of a pile of easter grass to scare them, then acted scared herself. Sariah screamed.
Next Toto tied a gold ribbon to their head. Which was promptly and creepily stolen by the wicked witch. She taught them about Virtue and how easily virtue can be stolen. How it must be protected. Her room was dark except for one small light and had flying monkeys hanging from the ceiling.

Then they met Oz - who at first was hiding behind the projector screen talking through a microphone. He is our branch president and spoke to them about what the YW really does - help convert us to the gospel so we can go forth and be true disciples of Jesus.
The whole cast! Sure will miss all these gals when they move.
